We have reached the time of year where I struggle to hold back the tears. Yesterday was Pre-School sports day and the children were amazing! At the same time, the whole school went on a trip to Lytham, some children undertook Grade 1 music exams and Mr.Gilmour, Miss Taylor and I remained in school with the wonderful task of organising school reports!

Here is our new minibus! This is such an exciting time for us because we will be able to use the bus for UFA, year group trips, music days, sport competitions and visiting other school and nurseries.

I can’t begin to tell you how proud we all are with our Year 6 class. You wouldn’t have been able to tell that SATs was taking place in our school at all because calmness and positivity has filled the air. The children took each day in their stride and staff have certainly ensured that the children are prepared and keep their outlook that they can only do their best. Well done to our Year 6 role models. You are all an inspiration and an absolute delight. Mrs Rossall has worked so hard to prepare the children, as have all staff within the class. There really was a compliment for you Mrs Rossall when I described you in today’s assembly as a solid block of cheese!

What a great week we have had. New topics bring new enthusiasm and our new school areas are making an enormous impact on learning. Children are gardening and looking after our beautiful animals daily- and always without being asked. UFA groups are exciting and the sunshine is bringing an extra something that we have missed…playing on the school field at break times!

We have been inspired by the talent of one of our parents this week. Mrs. Harwood (whose art is commissioned under the website name Angela Wakefield) has given two full days of her time in order to paint our greenhouse wall. The children were in awe when each class looked at her website and saw her beautiful paintings. Here are just a couple….

I am just glad to be back to normal this week…well, as normal as things can be when you are in the middle of a building project. School is going to look amazing and the works will hopefully be completed ahead of schedule.
