HILL CHAPEL WW1 EXHIBITION: 19TH -20TH OCTOBER 2018
WE REMEMBER
Dear all,
The children in the school choir and band have been learning some new repertoire for a very special concert as part of a WW1 exhibition and dedication of remembrance in church. The concert starts at 2.00pm on Friday 19th October. This is a super celebration which also involves our Year 4 children, showing their project work and poems. The Year 4 children are also working towards a completelyseparate event, which takes place with our Longridge Cluster of school on 11th November at The Guild Hall.
The lyrics of ‘When will I be famous’ courtesy of Bros (for those of you who remember the band from back in the 90s-I had all of their pin badges) have now been answered….Tuesday.
It is amazing how one job creates another (both jobs being quite large) but the end product is well worth the hassle. Over the Summer holidays, a new floor was laid in the Reception classroom and what a difference it made. I couldn’t believe how much it highlighted the horrendous walls which seemed to glow a sickly off cream colour with the odd mark of felt tip and paint. It just wouldn’t do so an emergency paint job quickly followed the laying of the floor. I am happy to say that the classroom looks stunning and fresh-all ready for our busy little starters. A new rabbit kingdom has been created and ‘Cluckingdom Palace’ sits proudly in the animal area nearest the garage.
We have reached the time of year where I struggle to hold back the tears. Yesterday was Pre-School sports day and the children were amazing! At the same time, the whole school went on a trip to Lytham, some children undertook Grade 1 music exams and Mr.Gilmour, Miss Taylor and I remained in school with the wonderful task of organising school reports!
Here is our new minibus! This is such an exciting time for us because we will be able to use the bus for UFA, year group trips, music days, sport competitions and visiting other school and nurseries.
