THE CHILDREN, PARENTS, CARERS, TEACHERS AND FAMILIES OF ST.FRANCIS HAVE MANAGED TO RAISE £731 FOR THE NSPCC! THIS WILL HELP THE NSPCC ANSWER 146 CHILDLINE PHONE CALLS FROM CHILDREN WHO NEED URGENT HELP AND SUPPORT. WE HAD AN INCREDIBLY FUN NUMBER DAY 2 WEEKS AGO, ALONG WITH AN IMPRESSIVE CAKE SALE TO RAISE THE MONEY. FOR SUCH A SMALL SCHOOL THIS IS A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF MONEY, IT IS THE LARGEST SINGLE AMOUNT OF MONEY ST. FRANCIS HAVE MANAGED TO RAISE FOR A CHARITY. JO, FROM THE NSPCC WAS INCREDIBLY IMPRESSED WITH OUR SCHOOL IN BEING ABLE TO RAISE SO MUCH MONEY. HAVING SPENT A DAY WITH THE CHILDREN, SHE COMMENTED ON WHAT A LOVELY, CARING, NURTURING SCHOOL WE ARE. WE HAD A SPECIAL ASSEMBLY THIS MORNING, WHERE THE INCREDIBLE AMOUNT OF MONEY WAS REVEALED BY THE CHILDREN! THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTED THE CHILDREN IN RAISING THIS MONEY FOR THE NSPCC. FOR THE CHILDREN - LEARNING TO SUPPORT OTHERS IN NEED, AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE, IS AN INCREDIBLE ATTRIBUTE TO HAVE FOR THEIR FUTURES.

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

Well done Emily, our award winning illustrator for winning £50 worth of books for school! Emily came 2nd in a comic books trip competition, as part of the Fantastic Book Awards that Year 6 pupils are taking part in this year. This is a wonderful achievement for a very talented young artist and keen reader! The children are over half way through their Fantastic Book Awards challenge, as we work our way through our reading challenge - look out for more competition winners!
