Glee Club
Welcome to our Glee Club page. Glee club is a musical theatre club that runs after school every Thursday. Mrs Davies and Mr Davies work very hard to coach children in both KS1 & KS2. They develop pupils training in singing, dancing and acting. Both Mr and Mrs Davies have a musical theatre back ground and thoroughly enjoy passing their expertise onto our buzzing performers as well as developing pupils confidence. Glee Club has performed live at number of events such as Goosnargh Village Hall, golden assemblies, and our end of term music concerts.

Follow Your Dreams
After teaming with up National Careers Week and working towards our Lancashire Schools Equality Mark – over the course of the next year, St Francis will receive a range of visitors from people of all walks of life to talk to the children about their careers, dreams and aspirations. Part of the focus for the year is to challenge stereotypes. We have guessed the careers of visitors and learned about their job roles. So far, we have welcomed the NSPCC staff, Dogs trust, paramedics, a journalist, medical staff and fire fighters.
Children at St Francis were treated to a visit from a professional sportsman; Ryan Paul Davies, former professional boxer and now professional wrestler came to visit the children to discuss life as a professional athlete, how to never give up and follow your dreams! An inspiring talk, along with plenty of questions from the children, ended with the children joining in with Ryan’s signature ‘RPD!’ chant! A big thank you to Ryan for coming along to inspire the children and answering some great questions!
School Magazine
So far, the children have written three amazing school magazines. You can read these in school or ask for a copy.
Gardening
We are delighted to welcome a very knowledgeable grandad to our school team! We have many people who come to help us look after our school grounds and they give their time freely, and discreetly. We could not do without them and their support and we wish to give our continuous thanks to them all-you know who you are!
Our chicken coop area is brilliant and our Willow Dome is looking incredible after a much needed trim! We have now sorted and cleared our vegetable patches and they are already full of life! We are growing carrots, strawberries and potatoes. These will be sold by the children and eaten by all. We are going to be learning about young enterprise and we are really getting all hands on deck with developing the pod area…
Choir
Last Choir Standing Competition on Wednesday 25th March at Blackburn Cathedral. We need to be there for 5.00pm. We are singing Dare to Dream and Jericho and we are in Heat 5. We can’t wait!
We have 36 children in our school choir ranging from Reception Class to Year 6!
The children perform in half termly music morning concerts and are led by Mr Warren.
We were humbled to be asked to sing for The Mayor of Preston’s Thanksgiving Service and the children were incredible! Thank you so much to all of the families and children who could come-you were amazing!
