Celebrating Advent and Community Spirit
As we journey through this special season of Advent, our school has been alive with joy, generosity, and faith-filled moments. Advent is a time of hope, preparation, and reflection—a time when we prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ at Christmas. It has been wonderful to see this message lived out in so many ways across our school community. We had a wonderful Christmas fair, CAFOD World Gifts stalls, Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children, Pantomimes, food bank collections, carol singing in the local care home and beautiful Advent services.Enjoy a cup of tea and have a look at what we have been up to in our final weeks of school.
Sign Language Fundraiser for Speech and Language UK
This week, our youngest children from nursery and Reception Class showed incredible compassion and creativity by taking part in a sign language fundraiser to support Speech and Language UK. Learning to communicate through sign language reminded us of the importance of inclusion and understanding—values at the heart of our mission. Watching children sign simple phrases with pride was a powerful reminder that communication is a gift, and every voice matters. The children raised £167.00 for Speech and Language UK-click to watch the event here...
A visit to our local care home to sing Christmas Carols and bring some smiles to all...
Some of the children from Beacon Class enjoyed carol singing in the local care home. We go annually to spread a little Christmas spirit and we are even looking forward to joining the residents for Easter Bingo already!
EYFS and Pre-School Carols
Our youngest learners in EYFS and Pre-School melted hearts with their beautiful Christmas carols. Their joyful singing captured the innocence and wonder of the season. Thank you to all families who joined us and supported these little stars!
Infant Nativity
Well done to our little stars for another beautiful Nativity. The singing was outstanding and the children spoke so clearly. It made us all fill with joy and happiness. Well done to all staff for preparing the children so well!
KS2 Advent Service
Our KS2 Advent Service was a deeply moving occasion. Through scripture, prayer, and song, the children reflected on the themes of hope, peace, joy, and love—the four candles of the Advent wreath. Their thoughtful readings and hymns reminded us that Advent is not just about waiting, but about preparing our hearts to welcome Christ into our lives.
A super Christmas Music Showcase Concert
Well done to our band, Glee Club and choir for putting on such a fabulous show! The children were amazing...as were the members of the audience in their participation!
We wish you all a very happy, safe and special Christmas. It is a joy to work with you all.
