A Joyful Celebration of Faith and Community
On a beautiful day in Claughton-on-Brock, our parish came together for a truly special occasion: a joint Mass at St. Thomas' Church, uniting the communities of St. Mary's School Claughton and St. Francis' School Goosnargh. The highlight of the celebration was a moving performance of a Spanish hymn by the children of both schools, offered in honour of Archbishop Miguel Maury Buendía, the Apostolic Nuncio to Great Britain. The church was full as 40 children took to the stage to perform.
The Archbishop’s visit was a moment of great joy and pride for our parish. His warm presence and kind words touched everyone, and he expressed his deep appreciation for the hospitality and spirit of Lancashire. He assured us he would share the memory of this wonderful gathering with Pope Leo during the upcoming state visit to the Vatican, where he will accompany Their Majesties, the King and Queen of the United Kingdom. We were happy to give him a lovely sent off.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the children, families, staff, and parishioners who made this celebration so memorable. Your presence and participation truly made it a day to remember.
Let us continue to grow in faith and unity, inspired by the joy and love shared on this special day.
